Buddy Blankenfeld joined the ABC 4 News team in August, 2001. Before working at ABC 4, he was an award-winning anchor and reporter at KPAX in Missoula, Montana. During his four years in Missoula, Buddy reported from the front lines of the wildfires that swept through Montana in 2000. Buddy likes to throw himself into his work; since joining ABC 4, he's taken a shot form a taser gun, been pelted with paint balls, and flown an F-16. His exploits are the talk of the newsroom and often result in more creative things he can experience.

A Utah resident for over 16 years, Buddy grew up in Sacramento, California. He attended Utah Valley State College and Brigham Young University, where he earned a degree in broadcast journalism.

Buddy is a big fan of Utah's beautiful mountains and canyons. His favorite thing to do is spend time with his wife and four daughters. He's also passionate about tennis, mountain biking, motorcycles, and skiing.
