Tonight we had another News and Weather School here at ABC4.  We do them once a month where kids and parents can learn about TV news, weather and sports.  The news anchors and sports anchors give a talk about their days and how they got into the business.  Then it's on to lots of weather fun and facts.  I let the kids tell me what they think that days forecast should be.  Then we talk about how a weathercast is put together from the maps and models to creating computer graphics.  I have some fun weather measuring devices that the kids can hold and learn about.  And then comes the real fun, we talk about the chroma key, the big green board that I stand in front of every show. I usually get a group of kids to stand in front of it and we place a green tarp in front of them and they disappear.  It's fun everytime and I think the kids go away learning alot and having a good time.  I spent years as a summer camp counselor, so this is a chance for me to work with kids again which is something I really enjoy.  If you'd like to sign your group up for News and Weather School, you can do it on our website under the community page.
