A Cute Way of Saying It

This was quite a week.

Be honest.  At some point we all worried about our money. 
Maybe a relative told us a story about growing up during the Great Depression.  It was an unsettling week.

But, as all the reporters and analysts struggled to tell us the story of what was happening, we sadly began using words and phrases that stretched the sensibilities of most mature people not to mention the english language.

There is a media bulletin board that I occasionally check and one of the topics was "Overused Phrases in Economy Stories". 

Check them off with me as we go down the list...I am sure you heard most of them:

'It is what it is"
"from Wall Street to Main Street"
that was a "game changer"
"toxic loans"
the message "resonates" with voters
"at the end of the day"
"deal or no deal"

Everyday I put my fingers on my keyboard and write scripts for our daily broadcasts.  I hope they never type any on the list above....

I have given my fingers a strict lecture.

I hope they listen.

"only time will tell"
