Be careful.
Before you know it will be fall...and then...winter!
I spent part of Sunday at Wasatch Mountain State Park. It's a beautiful part of Utah hidden just outside the booming metropolis of Midway.
Yes, I checked out the old pioneer apple trees and the choke cherry trees. Barb Smith told me she used to pick them as a child.
But, what I noticed is that the mountains are slowly, subtly changing colors. Because it was so dry this summer, the fall colors are not vibrant. They are dull browns and golds and even greys.
There are no bold strokes from nature this year, just gentle mixes of fall colors that blend together to change the mountain from green to brown.
Take an extra moment and take them in. There is a peace about them.
And, on your way out of the park, pick an apple and take a bite of the change of seasons.
