WEST JORDAN - A car burst into flames at an LDS Church parking lot just before midnight Wednesday, officials said.  But who owns the vehicle and why it went up in flames are a mystery.

The car was found burning near 7000 South and 2700 West in West Jordan at approximately 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.  The car was parked in the very back of the parking lot, but no one appeared to be inside.

Firefighters extinguished the flames after several minutes, but no one was found inside the charred vehicle.

Authorities are trying to track down the car's owner by identifying its license plate and vehicle identification number.  However, it was unknown how much of that information was destroyed by the flames.

No injuries were reported from the fire.  The cause of the flames was also not immediately known.
