SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Questar Gas has settled a wrongful death lawsuit filed after a home explosion that killed the woman who lived in the house and a utility employee.
The Division of Public Utilities and Questar Gas Company said they agreed to a settlement Wednesday that outlines changes to safety procedures and provides additional oversight for the utility.
The explosion happened after contractors in a Saratoga Springs neighborhood hit a gas line. Homes were evacuated while the line was patched, but when April Roper and a Questar employee went back into Roper's home to relight the furnace, the home exploded.
