It was another amazing year in high school football, with several outstanding individual performances. We name our most valuable players for each class.
5-A: Alta quarterback Ammon Olsen. Olsen led the Hawks to their 2nd straight state championship by throwing 34 touchdown passes, 12 of them in the playoffs.
4-A: Cottonwood running back Isi Sofele. The Colts didn't win the 4-A title, but Sofele had a monster year, rushing for over 1900 yards and 32 touchdowns.
3-A: Logan quarterback Jeff Manning. Manning led all quarterbacks in the state with 42 touchdown passes, and he ran for 12 more.
2-A: North Summit running back Colby Richins. Richins was a force as a linebacker and a running back, rushing for 15 touchdowns as the Braves won the 3-A championship.
1-A: Kanab quarterback Craig Brinkerhoff. He led the class with 17 touchdown passes as the Cowboys reached the 1-A title game.
